JobSummary
Partner with university customers tounderstand their technical and business challenges. Use the insights gained topaint a vision of how MathWorks can help them address their challenges ineducation and research. Conversations will range from computational thinking,coding to learn, use of MathWorks’ products in industry to benefits ofteaching/learning MATLAB skills. Demonstrate the value of MATLAB and Simulinkto grow their adoption in curriculum, research and commercial projects.
Responsibilities
· Planning and Strategy: Perform data-driven account assessments todetermine overall health of an educational institute. Develop TechnicalEngagement Plans and associated activities to increase adoption and usage ofMathWorks’ products across a set of institutes. Regularly review the keymetrics to adapt your plans.
· Execute Technical Engagement Plans: Travel to universities and engage customersto advocate and support deeper adoption and usage of MathWorks’ products acrossall aspects of an institute including curriculum and coursework, in researchand commercial projects, and in high-impact student activities (competitions,projects etc.). Prepare and deliver presentations, demonstrations, andapplication examples.
· Champion Computational Thinking: Influence academic leaders to incorporatecomputational literacy in their curriculum. Identify, track and influenceadoption of MathWorks’ products in relevant Engineering, Science and Businesscourses, at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Motivate the valueof teaching MATLAB/Simulink skills, supporting problem set development and integration,and supporting integration of products into key hardware projects andlaboratories.
· Create Vision Beyond Curriculum: Identify key research projects and groupsthat can benefit from the adoption of MathWorks’ products. Engage these groupsto understand their goals and challenges. Leverage product knowledge andindustry experience to recommend MathWorks’ solutions.
· Cultivate Champions: Establish rapport with leading faculty andresearchers to persuade them to advocate MathWorks’ product on-campus and inthe broader education community. Advocate on behalf of customers to influencethe future of MathWorks’ products.
· Be Resourceful: Engage other MathWorks personnel to assist in key activitiesand specialized product areas to ensure successful adoption and usage across anentire university.
Minimum Qualifications
· A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience(or a master's degree and 5 years of professional work experience, or a PhDdegree) is required.
· Candidates must be willing to travel 25% to 50% of the time
· Experience with MATLAB
· Candidates for this position must hold a valid work permit inKorea.
Additional Qualifications
· Strong desire to spread the use of MathWorks products inacademia
· MS in Engineering or Science required
· Experience with Simulink is a plus
· Experience in data science and/or machine learning is a plus
· Experience in computational thinking, active learning, orproject-based learning is a plus
· Experience in a technical sales, marketing or customer-facingrole is a plus
· Experience as a graduate-level research or teaching assistant isa plus
· Experience working with customers at multiple levels, includingdeans, dept chairs, professors, research staff is a plus
· Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills
· Strong project management skills
· Business level English is desired
· Demonstrated ability to work in highly collaborative,cross-functional environments
