Soompiis seeking a focused and ambitious editorial intern to join our growingeditorial team in Seoul, South Korea.
Theeditorial intern will work closely with writers and senior editors from aroundthe world to produce engaging, insightful, and fun digital content. Candidatesmust be passionate about producing content that can reach a mass audience andconnect people with each other and with Korean entertainment and culture. Oureditors are fully involved in all stages of the editorial process.
Theeditorial intern must be knowledgeable about Korean entertainment and culture.She or he should also have knowledge of the various global communities andmedia coverage currently evolving around Korea’s creative and cultural content.
Asan editorial intern, you will be working with the full-time staff at the SoompiSeoul office near the Sinsa Station. The position is paid, with the 4 majorKorean insurances provided. The contract term is 6 months, with possiblepromotion to full-time Staff Editor at the end of the contract. The positionwill begin ASAP.
Responsibilities:
● Assist inoff-site event and press conference coverage for K-drama and K-pop relatedcontent
● Writingposts for publication on the site each day
● Track andresearch trends and stories related to Korean entertainment and culture
● Providefeedback and editorial support to other writers on the team
● Brainstormwith Soompi editors and the Viki team to continuously improve content and buildcommunity
Requirements:
● Fluentenough in Korean to be able to read and translate written material
● Havestrong command of English grammar
● Strongwriting skills with an energetic, positive written voice
● Have goodknowledge of the Korean entertainment industry
● Must beorganized, pro-active, and dedicated
Experiencein blogging, social media networking, Photoshop, videography, or photography isa plus.
